Auxin, as a plant hormone, affects the growth of the plant and is also indispensable for its developmental process. Auxin, performed by Eva Maceková, grows through the urban environment in the EMA espresso bar into a developmentally advanced figure-mutated plant, which, paradoxically, remains enclosed in a giant aquarium. The specificity of the installation transfers the exhibition space into the form of a dichotomous character, in which one figures on the border of nature and culture, and encourages the viewer to think symbiotically. AXN-5920-1 is part of the new Auxin series by Eva Maceková.
Aquarium is the exhibition rhizome of White Pearl Gallery, which is with its layout ideal for presentation of one work or mono-installation. Observing the art work though the glass evokes an impression of an aquarium living its own life. The location works with a random passer-by and it transforms him into an exhibition spectator within the public space.
