Little Witchy Boy
Little Witchy Boy
He came from the wall, through the rough landscape. Young but fresh, helpless wizard .... Little Witchy Boy
With the stigma of the future, dusty with eternity ... Little Witchy Boy
With a wand in his hand, a hood in plastic, he fell in the morning ... Little Witchy Boy
Tomáš Bryscejn (*1988) is a graduate of the Painting Studio of Jiří Černický and Marek Meduna at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. In his paintings, he draws on pop culture in various ways and, through the programming language of the human hand, keys the codes of virtual space. The work entitled Little Witchy Boy belongs to the series from 2016, referring to the decline of the culture of B-movies from the 80s. Bryscejn puts the little magician's narrative fight with a carrot into a site-specific installation and creates a battlefield where time and space are relative.
Aquarium is the exhibition rhizome of Karpuchina Gallery, which is with its layout ideal for presentation of one work or mono-installation. Observing the art work though the glass evokes an impression of an aquarium living its own life. The location works with a random passer-by and it transforms them into an exhibition spectator within the public space. ––––– The gallery rhizome is situated on the address: EMA espresso bar, Na Florenci 1420/3, 110 00, Prague.
